Taken from the Japan-only release of his full-length "Blood & Honey" album, DJ 3000 delivers the "Blood & Honey EP." This EP draws from the diverse selection of musical styles on the full-length effort.

"Lost Generation" explores the mysticism and tradition contained within our native rhythms. Combining the sounds of lush Underground Resistance-like rhythms with his signature percussive lines, DJ 3000 reminds us of the past while keeping us moving in the present. "Ottoman March" is a little more confrontational. Addressing the swagger of a world dominating empire as well as the chaos of battle in a sonic landscape that Motech Records has become known for.

"Took My Nation" speaks for those who have been displaced without choice. By far the dancefloor burner of the EP, "Nation" is equal parts rhythm and strife. It represents both the light and dark side of being dispossessed. "Nation" is an extra bonus as it does not appear on the "Blood & Honey" full length album.

"Illegal Allien" has been licensed by tastemaker DJ Dave Clark for his annual 2007 "I Love Techno" complilation. "Illegal Allien" embodies the lush combination of electronic and traditional orchestration which has been a hallmark in Detroit's electronic music output over the last 20 years or so. It also incorporates other "borrowed" elements, another tradition in the Detroit production circle.

The "Blood & Honey" EP serves as a few snapshots of the much larger picture that is the full-length album. Motech Records is maturing and growing more diverse every day through the various collaborations around the world and the addition of creative outlets. When the time comes for you to work with us, what will you contribute? What history will you let us in on? What will your past sound like?
