Despite its negative impact, globalization has brought all of us closer together. Individuals from across the globe can interact with each other as if they were next door neighbors. Projects that would have never been timely and expensive in the past can now thrive in real time with little to no cost. Fresh off of his collaboration with Gerald Mitchell, DJ 3000 presents Motech’s tenth release,”The Balkan Bridge EP.”

Music served as the “Bridge” between DJ 3000 and Fabrice Lig. After a successful remix on the “Ancestors” EP, Fabrice Lig and DJ 3000 come together again for a side-by-side 12”. “Balkan Bridge” stays true to the Motech sound, from the ethnic feel right down to the album’sartwork, inspired by a landmark bridge in Ljubljana. “Au Pont Des Ames Perdues” literally translates to “on the lost souls bridge.” Fabrice Lig composes a complex, soulful piece that accurately reflects the fruits of this collaboration.

As Motech moves into its tenth release, it too has been cast under the spell of globalization. What started as a local Detroit enterprise has moved beyond the borders of both country and genre to corner of the globe. When that time comes will you be ready ?
