The vision of Motech has come full circle. From its modest beginnings in Detroit, the “Motech” sound is now spanning the globe with sets of beats and rhythms that speak a universal language. The simple idea for a label that would be an outlet for a different type of sound has emerged as a global voice for a unique group of diverse artists. This global influence has resulted in Motech 011, the “Drums United EP.” Separated by thousands of miles, the respective producers on this EP share a similarity in their sound that transcends any distance that may lie between them. DJ 3000 delivers to us “Face Your Fate,” a percussive, dance floor burner that is already being charted by internationally acclaimed DJ Dave Clarke, and was recently licensed for use on an upcoming Dan Curtin mix set to be released on German imprint Tuning Spork. Representing the right side of the pond, Fabrice Lig and Jean Vanesse team up to form South Union. “Our Rhythm and Sound” is a bold proclamation towards the fusion of sounds from the European movement and those happening in Detroit. DJ 3000 dresses up “Our Rhythm and Sound” by adding a dose of his signature percussion to the track’s already resounding sonic depth. Where will Motech land next? Only time will tell. If there exists a means, there exists a way for our diverse sound to reach your corner of the globe. Will you be ready for us when we arrive? |
