Taking the sounds of his ancestral past, and weaving them in with the rhythms and technology of the present, DJ 3000 is shaping the future of his music. “Sacred Time” is creating a point in the future that will, in due time, become the past, and in turn re-emerge as a source of inspiration and realization. The idea of past, present and future intersecting is not a new concept in Detroit, especially in the context of its musical history. On “Sacred Time” DJ 3000 draws from both locational and historical influences in order to deliver a reference point in the present and a vision into the future. “Bilingual Sines” speaks to Motech’s international appeal. Much like the automotive roots it emerged from, Motech started as a small, local enterprise, and through its creation of a well assembled product has now gained a global perspective. Regardless of the languages we speak or understand, music is the only one that transcends our ability to communicate with one another. It is the only truly common language on Earth. If we were to stand in a room full of people from all over the world, it would be a true challenge to verbally tell one another to dance.
